Review and Score
The ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX is one of the best gaming motherboards you can get at the moment. With AMD’s third-gen Ryzen and Ryzen Threadripper processors being the main focus of this motherboard, we wanted to look at how it would handle both.
This is the first motherboard that supports Ryzen Threadripper processors in a while, so we were excited to see how well it performed compared to our last motherboard, the Asus ROG Strix Z270E Gaming ATX.
We’ve also tested this motherboard with the Ryzen 7 3700X and the Threadripper 2990WX in the past, and they performed very well.
Both were great for single and multi-threaded applications, and the motherboard even scored a solid 16-core mark in our processor tests.
The ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX is one of the best gaming motherboards we’ve seen lately, and it doesn’t disappoint with AMD’s third-gen Ryzen or Threadripper processors. It’s built with a high-quality metallic finish, and there are even Aura RGB headers included for some extra color options.
The ASRock Z170 Pro4 was our previous choice for an AMD Ryzen Threadripper motherboard, but that was before the launch of Threadripper 3000. Luckily, the ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX makes up for that and comes with a similar design. It supports the latest Ryzen 3000 Series processors and features two M. 2 slots for additional storage expansion.
ASUS designed the ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX with Ryzen 3000 support in mind. There are two M. 2 slots and one M. 2 slot for storage expansion. In the past, we’ve only seen one motherboard with a triple M. 2 slot, the ASUS ROG Strix Z270-I Gaming ATX. The ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX has more SATA ports than the ASUS ROG Strix Z270-I Gaming ATX did, which means you can plug in up to 32TB of storage expansion.
The board is designed with a metal core heatsink for maximum heat dissipation. It has three PCI-E x16 slots that run at full speed and three PCI-E x1 slots that run at full speed. There are two DIMM slots and two DDR4 slots for more memory, and the board features eight SATA 6Gb/s ports for plenty of storage expansion.
The board is fully backward compatible with X470 motherboards and prior generations of Ryzen, and there are only two legacy headers on the rear panel for easy cable routing. This motherboard supports AMD’s latest AM4 socket and PCIe 4. 0. Our Score: 9.3/10

People have said that it is an “excellent motherboard” and “very easy to set up.” they also like that it comes with two M.2 slots and USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports. A few people had problems with the BIOS, but those seem to be in the minority. I highly recommend this motherboard if you want a high-quality option for your computer build.
Conclusion
The ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX Motherboard is a high-quality product with much to offer. It is packed with features such as PCIe 4.0, Aura Sync RGB Lighting, 2.5 Gbps and Intel Gigabit LAN, WIFI 6 (802.11Ax), and Dual M.2 Heatsinks which makes it an attractive option for gamers and PC enthusiasts alike.
