Gigabyte X570 Aorus Xtreme Review – The Ultimate Motherboard?

When it comes to the best gaming motherboards, Gigabyte has always been a name that comes to mind. Their motherboards are known for their excellent features and performance. The X570 Aorus Xtreme is no different.

This Gigabyte X570 Aorus Xtreme motherboard is packed with features that make your gaming experience amazing. From its enhanced cooling capabilities to its Killer E2500 networking, this motherboard has everything you need and more to take your gaming to the next level.

In this review, I will go over everything you need to know about the X570 Aorus Xtreme to make an informed decision before you buy.

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Xtreme Motherboard review

As usual, Gigabyte’s hardware is pretty good. The heatsink on the chipset has an excellent copper base to help the heat out, the audio section is also well cooled with a huge radiator, and it has a very quiet fan that does not draw power while running.

The features on this board impressed me, with the 10+2 phase VRM for stable voltage regulation and a nice BIOS. It also has USB 3.1 gen 2, SATA, NVMe, Wi-Fi 6, and many connectivity options.

The PCB layout is extremely clean, with zero unnecessary components. The PCB itself is made of aluminum, and the whole thing feels really solid. It also comes with a couple of metal standoffs if you want to mount it on something (although I never did).

Gigabyte’s RGB support is also quite good. It’s still nowhere near as fancy as Asus’ Aura series, but what it lacks in design, it makes up for in functionality and usability. In my experience, it was one of the best experiences I’ve had when setting up a computer with RGB lighting.

The board also has a stylish black and silver design that will look great in any PC build. It’s a very nice motherboard for its price, but it’s also one of the most expensive boards on the market: It’s not cheap.

My only major complaint about this board is that there are no PWM headers, and the bios are not up to the mark. There are tons of things you can’t control, such as the fan profiles, the USB audio, etc. It would be nice if Gigabyte updated their bios more often.

THE PROS

The VRM design also uses a very high voltage design for even better performance.

It has great overclock support.

The memory speed of this motherboard is also extremely fast, so you will be able to overclock without any trouble.

This motherboard also supports PCIe x16 lanes, which is very useful when you need extra bandwidth.

It has dual M.2 slots, which can allow for the installation of SSDs or more memory modules.

This board is compatible with Intel’s new X299 chipset, which is one of the best for gaming.

It also supports up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM.

THE CONS

Extremely expensive, but you are paying for the best in this case.

There are no PWM headers on this board, which is weird, but you can use them to make your fans.

Performance and Stability

Gigabyte x570 Aorus Extreme is designed with the most powerful AM4 chipset. It also features the best cooling design ever, and Gigabyte’s new dual BIOS is more convenient than ever! Gigabyte’s Dual BIOS and the extreme cooling design can easily overclock your processor to a high temperature, damaging your processor.

The board uses the “Comet Lake” chipset instead of the “Sabyon Lake” chipset that most other companies use for overclocking. The Comet Lake chipset has less power consumption, lower TDP (thermal design power), and higher performance.

The board supports DDR4-4500MHz, the highest frequency among all other motherboards. You will be able to set your memory at its fastest speed without worrying about the CPU or memory speed. The board supports PCIe 3.0/3.1 x16/x8/x4/x1/2/3 for maximum expansion capability.
